Paintings and Mixed Media
A selection of my recent paintings. I prefer working outside directly from Nature. I like the immediacy of that response and the feeling of being ‘at one’ with my environment. Once back in the studio, I let the paintings sit awhile as I contemplate whether they need further development.

Drawings and Sketches
Here are a selection of charcoal drawings and images from my recent sketchbooks. I often find it useful to do short timed sketches so that the response is immediate and not overworked. Drawing with dominant and non-dominant hand, contour drawing and ‘blind’ drawing are also really great ways to warm up and I often really like the results!
